Common Clubtail Gomphus vulgatissimus

Syn. Club-Tailed Dragonfly

Local in southern and central finland, usually on small rivers, streams. Favours less rocky and rapid streams as Small Pincertail, often in relatively slow-flowing sand-bottomed rivers. As other gomphids, favours clean waters. Can also breed in large, oxygen-rich rocky lakes. Immatures and males can be encountered very far away from water.

Flight period: June-August
