Downy Emerald Cordulia aenea

Common. Almost in the entire country, apparently absent from Enontekiö municipality, rare in northern Lapland. Abdomen is club-shaped and there are no bright yellow spots at the sides of frons.

Ponds, pools, lakes, slow-moving rivers, swamps and bogs.

Flight period: May-August

Male. Dark and hairy; the abdomen is at its widest near the end of abdomen, compared with Somatochlora emeralds where it's widest near the center. Jukka Toivanen
